Research Abstract

本年度はRh/SiO_2にReまたはMo酸化物種を添加した高選択的水素化分解触媒の詳細な触媒構造解析を行い,両触媒における触媒構造,水素化分解反応性の違いを明らかにし,報告した.具体的にはReO_x種はRh金属表面上でクラスターを形成するのに対し,MoO_x種はRh表面上で孤立イオンとして存在していることがわかった。これらの違いが両触媒における水素化分解生成物選択性の違いにつながっている.触媒構造と水素化分解反応性の関係を詳細に議論した論文は報告例が少ないため,この成果は非常に意義がある.
また水素雰囲気下での昇温還元測定時におけるRh-ReO_x/SiO_2の活性点構築過程をIn situ XAFS測定により明らかにし,報告した.RhとReはRhの方が優先的に還元され,その後Reが還元され始める.またRhは反応温度領域で酸化状態(Rh^<3+>)から金属状態(Rh^0)まで還元されるのに対し,Reは酸化状態(Re^<7+>)から部分酸化状態(Re^<n+> (n=2-3))までしか還元されなかった.さらにReはRhと最初に相互作用し,その後Re同士で相互作用することが示唆された.また高温域においてもReは部分酸化状態を維持しており,触媒構造の変化は見られなかった.これらの結果よりRh-ReO_x/SiO_2は非常に安定であり,この構造安定性が高い水素化分解能につながっている.バイメタル触媒におけるIn situ XAFS測定による詳細な研究は報告例が少ないため,この成果は非常に意義がある.
これらの他にFT-IRを用いた反応基質の触媒への吸着の検討,計算化学を用いた反応基質,生成物それぞれの熱力学的安定性の検討を行った.これらより分子内にOH基を持つ物質は触媒表面に強く吸着されること,本触媒は熱力学的に不利な物質を選択的に生成できていることがわかった.
