Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、可視光に応答するプラズモニック・メタマテリアルの創製を目的とし、分割リング共振器として銀ナノ粒子が球状に集積した構造体の作製を目指した。作製手法には、ブロック共重合体のミクロ相分離構造を自己組織化テンプレートとするボトムアップ技術と、金属を直接三次元的に析出させることができるフェムト秒レーザーを用いた二光子還元法のトップダウン技術を融合する新規作製手法を提案した。まず、ポリエチレンオキサイドとポリメチルメタクリレートからなるブロック共重合体薄膜を作製した。その薄膜を硝酸銀水溶液に浸漬し、銀イオンを導入した。その後、フェムト秒レーザーで描画を施し、二光子還元による銀イオンの金属化を行った。レーザー描画後、ブロック共重合体薄膜中に直径約10nmの銀ナノ粒子が析出していることを透過型電子顕微鏡観察と元素分析によって明らかにした。レーザー描画後の薄膜の表面構造を調べるために、原子間力顕微鏡観察を行った。得られた高さ像より、描画した部分の基板表面が一部露出し、その周りのブロック共重合体薄膜の膜厚が厚くなっていることがわかった。この結果については、レーザー照射の際に発生した熱によってブロック共重合体が融解したと考察した。この融解は、テンプレートとして機能させるべきブロック共重合体のミクロ相分離構造を乱すため、大きな問題となった。そこで、薄膜が融解しない微弱なレーザー照射で銀イオンの二光子還元を起こすために、増感剤の添加を検討した。増感剤には、色素のクマリン440と界面活性剤のN-デカノイルサルコシンナトリウムを用いた。レーザー強度を変化させながら、必要な添加量、ブロック共重合体の融解の有無、及び、銀イオンの金属化の有無を検討した。
