Research Abstract

森林生態系は多様な動植物が生息し、複雑な食物網が形成されている。それゆえに、生物多様性及び食物網の形成・維持プロセスについては未解明な点が多く残されている。この森林生態系のカギとなる土壌動物としてミミズがあげられる。ミミズは、落葉等の大型リターや土壌有機物を分解して物質循環を促進し、環境を改変して他の生物の住み場所を構築し、土壌中の群集構成を決定する。また、ミミズを餌とする生物も多く存在する。このような重要な役割にも関わらず、ミミズ群集の種構成や、その多様性の形成過程についてはほとんどわかっていない。
本研究は、森林に生息するミミズの多様性を把握し、進化的時間スケールでの群集形成過程を明らかにすることを目的とする。中部山岳地域の森林でミミズを定量的に採集し、遺伝子解析を行ってその多様性を把握し、さらに生態進化及び系統地理的なアプローチを行うことで、群集形成過程を調べる。今年度は複数地点で、7,8月にミミズの採集を行うとともに、環境条件を測定するためにリター及び土壌を採取した。秋以降にこれらのリターと土壌の分析、及び採集されたミミズの遺伝子解析を行った。今年度中に結果をまとめることは出来なかったため、今後、結果をまとめ、森林環境とミミズの多様性の関係、及びミミズの群集形成過程について、明らかにしていく予定である。
