Research Abstract

1.液晶系での並進拡散挙動の解析
液晶中での秒〜時間スケールの並進拡散挙動を評価するために、無蛍光性ネマチック液晶(FB-01)セル中を蛍光性液晶(5OCB)が拡散する様子を蛍光顕微鏡を用いて観測し、並進拡散係数を算出した。得られた並進拡散係数は10^<-9>〜10^<-11>m^2/sのオーダーであった。液晶の配向方向が拡散方向と平行な場合、それに垂直な場合にくらべて1桁程度大きな拡散係数を示し、また電場を印加した場合、その周波数が数百Hz以上になると拡散係数が1桁程度大きくなった。液晶分子が電場に追随できなくなると配向が固定され並進拡散しやすくなったと解釈した。
2.高分子ミクロ相分離超薄膜への光機能性微粒子の位置選択的配置
高分子薄膜のミクロ相分離構造を鋳型として光機能性微粒子を位置選択的に配置させることを試みた。ブロック共重合体(PS-co-P4VP)超薄膜をスピンコート法で作成し、薄膜を蛍光性高分子微少球(粒径20nm)もしくはポルフィリン誘導体TCPPの溶液(分散液)に浸積した。その後、純溶媒中で洗浄し、AFM像および吸収・蛍光スペクトルを観測した。ニートフィルムにおいて、P4VP相に対応する島部分の高さは、約8nmであったのに対し、浸積・洗浄後では約30nm(高分子微少球)もしくは約18nm(TCPP)に増加した。今回用いたTCPPおよび高分子微少球は共にカルボキシル基をもつため、それらがピリジル基と水素結合することにより島部分にのみ選択的に吸着もしくは導入されたと考えられる。
