Research Abstract

全固体イオニクス素子用の正極材料として検討を行っているスピネル型リチウムマンガン酸化物において、本年度は固体電解質を用いた場合に優位となる高電位リチウム二次電池の正極として有望であるLiNi_<0.5>Mn_<1.5>O_4に注目した。この物質について酸素分圧制御により不定性を有するLiNi_<0.5>Mn_<1.5>O_<4-δ>を合成した。合成したスピネル型酸化物はNiとMnが1:3が3次元で規則配列を有するP4_332の空間群に属することが分かったが、その規則配列の度合いは不定比量δの増加に伴い低下することが新たに分かった。また、δの増加に伴い4.7V付近の容量は低下したが、4V付近の容量は増加することが判明した。これはMn^<3+>の増加に伴うものと考えられ、そのことがXANES測定により確かめられた。さらに、δが増加するとレート特性が向上することが新たに分かった。次に、スピネル型リチウムマンガン酸化物正極と電解質界面のイオンの相間移動について知見を得るため、有機電解液を用いて電気化学セルを組みインピーダンス測定を行った。その結果、イオンの相間移動は2段階の反応であり、どちらも溶媒の寄与があることがわかった。また、アルミナでリチウムマンガン酸化物の表面修飾を行うことにより相間移動の速度が上がりレート特性が向上することが新たに分かった。
負極材料についてはブラネライト型酸化物Mn_<1-x>Mo_<2x>V_<2-2x>O_6は、もとのMnV_2O_6より高い容量と優れたレート特性を有することが示された。さらに逆スピネル構造を有するLiCoVO_4をリチウム二次電池の負極材料として評価した結果、ブラネライト型酸化物負極に比して不可逆容量の低減がはかられた。
固体電解質材料についてはチオリシコン型リチウムイオン導電体であるLi_3PS_4とLi_4SiS_4を端成分組成とするLi_<3+x>P_<1-x>Si_xS_4、あるいはLi_3PS_4とLi_4GeS_4を端成分組成とするLi_<3+x>P_<1-x>Ge_xS_4において途中の組成で導電率が極大となることが示された。また、固体電解質と電極界面の状態をXANES測定により解析した結果、充放電可能な酸化物では硫化物が形成されるのに対して、充放電不可能な正極との組み合わせでは硫化物が形成されないことが分かった。
