Research Abstract |
In 1999, informations on each theme are gathered in Japan, the USA, GB, France and Germany. Especially, in November, one of our members have attended the world summit on Physical Education held by ICSSPE in Berlin and gathered information on Physical Education in the world. Based on the information on this summit, we knew that Physical Education in Australian and also in New Zealand have a good suggestion for our project, our members have gone to theses countries and gathered related information. Also from staffs of the Heidelberg university in Germany, who have stayed in Japan, we got the information on Physical Education in higher education in Germany. In 2000, some of researchs results were presented in the International Conference for the 20th Anniversary of the Japanese Society of Sport Education in Osaka. We held also the symposium on the crisis of Physical Education in the world in Tsukuba University. About 60 participants have attended at the symposium. Research on elective Physical Education in schools and Physical Education in higher education have also done in these two years. From these research, we found that to keep 3 hours of Physical Education in schools was difficult in the would. But, on the other hands, there were many effort to get social support on Physical Education in schools in several levels. For example in scientific society, NGO and also in government. Berlin Agenda by ICSSPE and Punta del Este Declaration by MINEPS III were typical one of such effort. Behind such effort, one recognize the need to get off the negative image of sport and to show the pedagogical possibilities of sport in curriculum level. In this trends, people recognize the importance of teacher education of Physical Educator in each countries.
