Research Abstract |
We developed the Komonjo mokuroku database of various source versions, and integrated it with the existing Komonjo mokuroku database. In addition, we made possible a function that can correlate references to one document recorded from several reproduced sources, and a function to display images of all documents. Accordingly, researchers can now confirm the specific text characters and writing styles of each document in the database, and it is possible to compare the shape and writing style of as well as the characters themselves in one document from various versions of one source. Further, we have developed a non-standard character dictionary, a glossary and a synonym dictionary containing non-standard terms. By integrating these dictionaries and the database, we have made it possible to search for non-standard characters in our databases, using the non-standard character and glossary dictionaries, to extract index words from the non-standard character and glossary dictionaries, and to

examine and juxtapose synonyms through the synonym dictionary. Furthermore, we enabled the display of non-standard characters in the SHIPS (Shiryohensanjo Historical Information Processing System) database, after an upgrade of the Historiographical Institute's historical information system, opening a basic transmission of the above mentioned database to SHIPS. Regarding the Heian Ibun Full Text Database and the Komonjo Full Text Database, we have updated the data and made it possible to display non-standard characters. For the Nara Jidai Komonjo Full Text Database, we have added the ability to display non-standard characters formats of the "Dainihon komonjo hennen monjo" (Shosoin monjo). As for the Komonjo Mokuroku Database's various source version files, we updated the data and enabled the display of non-standard characters, in addition to recording a non-standard character dictionary, enabling the input and search of such characters. And, we input necessary data to make it possible to display images of various source versions in conjunction with the Documents of Iriki in the Komonjo Mokuroku Database (from various source version). In this way, we have analyzed and enhanced the ability to examine the vocabulary and the text characters, their shapes and styles of Japanese historical documents in these various projects and databases.
