Research Abstract |
The application of the dental implant to the tooth loss mending increases in the daily clinic now. It is thought that movement of dental implant different from natural teeth is done at the clenching because the periodontal ligament organization is lacked in the dental implant compared with natural teeth. However, it is a current state that there is no standard based on scientific research as for the occlusal contact to the superstructure. In this research, we aimed to examine the influence of the occlusal contact on the superstructure exerted on the stability of the occlusion in the intercuspal position. It was examined whether existing occlusal examination methods were able to use for the evaluation of the implant because there was a necessity for objectively catching a long series of occlusal contact and implant's changes for that. Moreover, to evaluate the change in the state of osseointegration when long-term passage in the patient treated with implant was observed, the IM checker was developed. As a result, the utility of the add-picture method and T-Scan II was shown in occlusal contact's evaluation and the utility of the IM checker was shown in the implant mobility evaluation. Implant patient's state of the occlusal contact was shown with occlusal evaluation equipment, and the occlusal contact when clenching strength was raised stabilized, and showed the tendency same as a healthy volunteers. The influence on the IM value whose diameter and depth of the implant body are the implant mobility indices in the model experiment was examined about the IM checker. Horizontal direction and the vertical direction were excited to the implant body and the measurement was evaluated. It was suggested the IM checker was able to measure implant's mobility, and this mobility to be able to evaluate the level of osseointegration.
