Research Abstract |
The people live in contemporary society have more welfare needs like care insurance than before, we need a lot of high quantitative social welfare workers. But there are many problems about social welfare workers as the characteristics of their role, proffessionality, working circumstances, cooperation with other professional workers, and these problems must be improved. In this thesis, I analyzed from the point of gender about that at first, the characteristics of their role, historical stream and this structure about social welfare workers, secondly, today's their condition and trends, thirdly, the circumstances of training school, the elderly's institutions about qualifications of social welfare workers. From this analysis, I checked the possibility if social welfare workers have qualifications, how they improve their situations. Especially I focused care workers. As conclusion, gender problem isn't obviously till the stage of training school. When they graduate and get the job of care workers, they found the problem and this makes care workers "female job'. Also in the elderly's institutions, it is pointed that part time employment, short terms working period which composed "female job", and that actually many female care workers request. So as a result, female care workers couldn't get administrative positions, improve their skills. Therefore it is difficult for employers to trust female care workers who behave questionably. But, these problems come from people's low understanding from the point of gender. So I stressed the need to change citizen's such consciousness throw giving information and lifelong education.
