Research Abstract

(1)三重臨界点を持つ3成分系のモデルについて相平衡の計算と実験を行い、三重臨界点に近づくときの挙動の変化を明らかにした。この研究により、三重臨界現象を生ずる温度及び濃度領域は三重臨界点のごく近傍に限られることが分かった。(J.Chem.Phys.111,(2000))
(2)三重臨界点では共存曲線の形を表す臨界指数が1/4になることを溶液系で初めて見出した。(投稿中)
(3)4成分系のモデル系について相平衡の計算と実験を行い、リエントラント三相平衡現象を初めて見出すとともに、そのメカニズムを明らかにした。また、試料の組成のわずかな変化が4相平衡を出現させることが予測された。(J.Phys.Soc.Jpn.33,(2000))
(4)多成分系のギブズ自由エネルギーを高圧力の場合に拡張し、またその場合の相図がホモトピー法を用いて計算できることを示した。相図の圧力依存性には試料の高分子性が強く反映されることが示された。(Trans.MRS-J25,(2000)andJ.Phys.Soc.Jpn.69(2000))
(5)生体高分子と非イオン性界面活性剤を含むモデル系であるハイドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース(HPMC)-エチレングリコールモノイソブチルエーテル-水系の相図の測定を行い臨界点付近の溶解挙動はHPMCの分子量に大きく依存する一方、それ以外の領域の振る舞いは分子量にはほとんど依存しないことが見出された。(Trans.MRS-J 25(2000),Phys.Lett.A 259,(1999))
(6)臨界点付近の高分子の分子運動を調べるため、ESR,誘電測定を行った。
(7)(1)-(6)の結果に基づいて溶質である高分子の高分子性と非イオン性界面活性剤の双極子モーメントの効果がカップリングすることによる新しい現象の可能性を調査した。
