Research Abstract |
1. Many specimens of Fissidens from China were studied. Four species (F. angustifolius Sull., F clostery ssp. kiusiuensis (Sak.) Z.Iwats., F longisetus Gruff, and F subbryoides Gang.) were found to be newly added to the moss flora of China. Results were published in Bryobrothera vol. 5(1999). 2. F involutus Wils. ex Mitt. and its related species were studied. Results were published in Haussknechiita, Beiheft 9 (1999). 3. Fissidens guangdongensis Z.Iwats. & Z.-H.Li which was described from China was newly added to the moss flora of Japan. 4. All Fissidens species recorded from China were revised. Information on a total of 52 species of Fissidens were published in Moss Flora of China, English Version. Vol.2 (2001). 5. Three new species of Fissidens (F. neomagofukui Z.Iwats. & T.Suzuki, F. pseudo-taxifolius Z.Iwats. & T.Suzuki, and F. pseudo-adelphinus Z.Iwats. & T.Suzuki) were described from Japan (J. Hattori Bot. Lab. No. 92, 2002). 6. A collection of Fissidens from Vanuatu located in the National Science Museum, Tsukuba was studied. Seventeen species were recognized from the area. Among them 7 species were new additions to the moss flora of Vanuatu (Ann. Tsukuba Bot. Garden, No.21, 2002).
