Research Abstract |
(1) As a fundamental experiment on a doublet flow, the effects of injection velocity and the ratio of injection to suction on the flow were investigated. By using the PIV, the mean value of fluctuating velocity was found from its time mean value in the measuring section and the predicted equation is proposed by the velocity ratio and the diameter ratio. These are obtained from the conditions at the constant injection velocity and diameter. It was found that there exists a similarity of the flow at the same velocity ratio and the diameter ratio. (2) As an advanced experiment, the improvement of heat transfer and the reduction suction flow rate are investigated. For the former, it was clarified that the increase of the fluctuating velocity obtained by the fundamental experiment contributes to the heat transfer. From the results of the coefficient of heat transfer measured, the effectiveness of the doublet flow is confirmed. For the later, in order to reduce the suction flow, it is proposed to attach the suction pipe made longer. By making the suction pipe longer, it was clarified the above mentioned reduced suction flow can be obtained.
