Research Abstract

It pays attention to a science of vagueness recently. We can easily understand other parson's face. However a computer can not easily recognize a face of human being. We human being have a standard to recognize other person's face. But its standard is not clearly and it is ambiguous. We must recognize what is vagueness and have a standard to understand a degree of vagueness. An understanding a degree of vagueness is a first step for a mutual understanding between computer and human being. So in this study, EEG of a subject, it is a kind of physiological information, was measured when the subject was looking character patterns which a vagueness gradually increasing. The delta wave power of EEG signal on the electrode C3 has changed. We could measure the change of EEG signal between in an ambiguous mind state and a definite mind state. The change of EEG signal reflects the change of the brain activity. So it is showing that we can get some information from the change of the physiological signal. In this study, FFT analysis and Wavelet analysis were used. The results getting from wavelet analysis has given us a better discrimination. Finally this study has left a problem what was the vagueness and what was the degree of the vagueness.
