Research Abstract |
In the lower reaches of the Yodo River where Osaka Institute of Technology is located on, the investigators tried to examine the historical changes of the natural environment and the social environment of Osaka metropolitan area by using the Integrated Spatial Information System based on GIS and CAD/CG system. And they tried to image the future Yodo River Basin, too. Concretely, they visualized changes of the cityscapes, bridgescapes, and the course of the Yodo River from Edo period up to the present with this system. Also, they clarified the effects and factors of the Yodo on industrial activities. The head investigator, Yoshikawa developed the system generating 3D urban models from the historical map corrected geometrically on the present map. Then he restored the typical cityscapes and bridgescapes of Osaka in Genroku era as 3D-CG models. Especially he preserved the bridegescapes around Nakanoshima for the inheritable excellent historical environment as the digital archives. The CG models of bridges, Tenma, Tenjin, Naniwa, Kohrai, Ohe, and Yodoya, were generated in every era, and visualized transitionally. He also selected Hirakata-stage where; the Edo taste is left in, and generated the present CG models as the first step. Now he is preparing to open these data to the public through the Internet. The investigator, Aya restored the river environment of the Yodo by using De Rijke's survey drawings issued in early years of Meiji era. He collected survey drawings and topographical maps issued after the modem survey techniques had been established, and clarified the river changes. Another investigator, Iwasaki clarified the historical changes of the water transportation system and the ports distribution assisting the industries on the Yodo. And he investigated the river reservations as the urban recreation space at present, and clarified the improvement tasks.
