Research Abstract |
The goal of this research program is to establish a supporting system of evaluation of indoor air quality in man-equipment built environment for engineers, planners, house bui lders and staffs. Firstly we explored and summurized health effects and measurement methods of indoor air quality. Secondly we performed the multi-component measurements of indoor air quality in energy-efficient houses including Hokkaido University low energy house together with several kinds of general residence, health care facilities and hospitals. The measurement items of indoor air quality consisted of 1)air temperature, 2)relative humidity, 3)carbon dioxide(CO_2), 4)carbon monoxide(CO), 5)suspended particulate(SPM), 6)radon daughters, 7)air-borne bacteria, 8)airborne fungi, 9)formaldehyde(HCHO), and 10)volatile organic compounds(VOCs). In addition we conducted three kinds of mathematical model, a simple zone, multi-zone an d 3-D models. By using the multi-component measuring data we performed mathematical simulations and visualization of results including 3-D for a supporting system of evaluation of indoor air quality.
