Research Abstract

G.lutea seeds were dispersed from the end of March to the beginning of June and they have immature embryos and cannot germinate soon. Seeds, in the field, germinate from middle of October to middle of November and keep that situation. The cotyledons emerge from beginning of March to middle of April. About 80% of seeds germinate if they were placed in 10℃, 15/5℃, 20/10℃ or 15℃ for 180days. When seeds were exposed at 25/15℃ for 30 days, and subsequently moved to 5 to 10℃, embryos grow rapidly during low temperature and showed 90% or more germination. The optimum temperature for germination is 5 to 10℃.
E.japonicum also has immature embryo at the middle of June when seeds are dispersed. Seeds germinate from October to December in the field and then grow gradually and cotyledons emerge from middle of December to beginning of the April. 80-90% germinated if seeds were placed 10℃ or 15/5℃ for 200 days. 80-90% seeds also germinated when seeds were placed at 25/15℃ for 30-120 days and then moved to 0 to 10℃. The optimum temperature for germination is O to 10℃.
C.ambigua also has immature embryo. Seeds dispersed at the middle of May germinate in the next year at the beginning of March, and 85% germinate at the end of April. Emergence of cotyledons occurred at the middle of March, and 79% cotyledon were emerged at the end of the April. 80-90% germinated if seeds were placed 25/15℃ for 90 days →15/5℃ for 60 days→0 or 5℃. The embryo grew at 15/5℃ or 0 to 5℃. The optimum temperature is for germination 0℃.
