Research Abstract |
The hypersecretion of endogenous Corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) is present in patients with anorexia nervosa and is supposed to be related to its pathogenesis. To examine genetic factors that may play a significant role in susceptibility to anorexia nervosa (AN), CRF receptor type 1 and type 2 genes were analyzed in 15 AN patients with a family history of this disease. Any polymorphism of each receptor was not found. PCR products of exons and boundary regions of CRFR1 as well as CRFR2 were sequenced. However, no base substitution was found.
