Research Abstract |
1) 14,692 adults who suffered earthquake in Kobe were participated in oral health examination. The results showed that in over fifty aged subjects group, subjects with CPI 0 had fewer DMFT, especially DT and MT than subjects with 3 or 4 (P<0.01) 2) Among over fifty aged examinee of ponorama X-ray examinatin, subjects were divided into four groups with focus on level of alveolar bone loss ((1)No level group, (2)A few group, (3)Moderate group, (4)Severe group). The characteristics of no level group were as follows, especially compared with moderate and severe groups (1)No level group showed less proportion of subjects with diabetes mellitus (p<0.05) (2)Among life style related factors, no level group showed less proportion of subjects with smoking habit (p<0.05), having lower body mass index (p<0.05), or having regular dietary habit (p<0.05) individually. However frequency of daily brushing and dental office visits were not significantly different (3)No level group showed less numbers of DT or teeth with endodontic treatment (p<0.01). However there were no significantly different of FT 3) When no level group was compared with the healthy 20's people, differences of occlusal force at the same kind of teeth between left and right were less healthy 20's group (p<0.01)
