Research Abstract

For make clear the mechanism of making territory on each member of family, husbands and wives in Mie prefecture of the city of Tsu on a housing development of the detached houses were investigated.
About a ratio of possession of an exclusive private room which is main space of territory, wives have 20% and husbands have 40%. And so husbands are given priority about the possession of exclusive private room.
The blocking factors for the possession of exclusive private room are condition of the space, condition of the family and consciousness about privacy in case of wives, and are condition of the space and consciousness about thinking communication with the family in case of husbands.
The other hand, wives' territory is more inclusive community space than husbands' one and wives rule and control whole housing space.
The factors which make the type of territory are connected with surplus space, condition the family about the objective condition, and connected with the private life and the consciousness on privacy about the subjective condition, and are connected the relationship of family.
In same family, the territory type of husband and wife is connected, but wives' territory differs from husbands' one a little. It is caused by the degree the rule and control from husband and wife.
