Research Abstract |
Using of the satellite remote sensing data is useful for the environmental education. But the data includes the atmospheric scattering effects in the atmosphere - ground system. In this study we developed the atmospheric correction system. This study's conclusions can be summarized as follows ; 1) We tried a material of Engineering Education through Environmental Education. The material is implemented in our educational plans, "hands on activities". The students measure an water - resistance in the river by using our handmade resistance meter. The measurements indicate the amount of impurity in measured values. This educational approach to an environmental issue are useful for the technical education. 2) We adopted ADEOS / POLDER data as the educational remote sensing data. This sensor can measure directional space reflectance and polarization over land surfaces. We analyzed the reflectance data and polarization data based on multiple scattering calculations. We can use ADEOS/POLDER image data as the educational GIS system. 3) We made the materials of environmental education. The material is Japanese card game, that is called Karuta. Junior high school students and high school one can be interested in these materials.
