Research Abstract |
"Dohsa-hou" means a training theory of improving Motor Action for the disabled, especially cerebral palsied by Gosaku Naruse, Japanese psychologist, in 1965. This study is aimed to get the data to applicate "Dohsa-hou" to mentally retarded and autistic children in school. The results of this study is following : (1) 10 children were trained, 6 in 2000 and 4 in 2001. In "Dohsa-hou" method, training subjects are relaxation-training and modification of posture (knee-standing and standing). Mentally retarded and autistic children have bodily own tension, therefore, they show own distortion of their posture. (2) In this study, 10 children were trained, in parallel, was given psychological task (for example, occupational, task by hands, drawing of the human figure, imitation of motion, playing with trainer). It was shown significant relations between changing their motor action and their psychological task.
