Research Abstract |
Results from the Scientific Research (B) (2) during the term of the project are as follows ; 1 Results from C-F bond mapping (10 micron) by a Microscopic FT-IR spectroscopy ; (1) Development of protocol for inducing a fluorine-containing substituent to an antibody : synthesis of a complex dye and its application to wide pH range measurement. (2) Continuous discussion of a modified antibody with fluorine for application to an immunoassaymodel reaction : quantitative reaction of the proposed dye with amino group of protein is observed. However, the application of this technique to an immunity model has not been accomplished due to impossibility of enormous amount of synthesis of the dye. 2 Selection of a laser for a spectrum source and its application to IR observation ; (1) Green light is the best as a light source for an IR-measurement system using the proposed dye, which showed both a white light laser (by Prof. Fujii) and a color center laser (by Prof. Mirov) are suitable for the light source. 3 A high resolution (1-micron) image is obtained by the IR laser Raman microscope ; (1) Using a very accurate Raman mapping technique, possibility of 3-D mapping of the surface of cells modified with fluorine-containing dye is achieved. Further research in the next project : During the experiments in the project, the proposed technique using an IR laser Raman microscope to obtain a C-F bond absorption image is found to be suitable for obtaining data of non-bio materials as well as bio-materials. We hope to try, for example, to develop a material for a set of artificial teeth without using an antibacterial agent for elimination of bacterial.
