| Research Abstract |
In this research, systems of Japan and China were compared.
The feature of the extension system in Japan is the following points.
1. the application of an American model. The law is enacted from early time and the business is executed.
2. the cooperative business of a central government and the local government. A public character is strong.
3. The agricultural cooperative association is executing the farming guidance.
4. Development of service such as private pay consultants.
5. The university indirect takes part in the business.
The feature of the spread system in China is the following points.
1. Recently (1992), the law was enacted.
2. The extension system is being maintained also in the center and the provinces.
3. There is no agricultural cooperative association. Uniting of the extension business and the sales business.
4. Uniting of pay service and free service.
5. Agricultural universities are taking part in the extension business and the business management.
