Research Abstract

現在、生体内の全ての部位に光を照射することが可能となっている。従って、可視光により励起可能なC_<60>を光増感剤として利用することは、光線力学治療法への臨床適応に対し早くから期待されてきた。しかし、C_<60>の水への可溶化の難しさが大きな障壁となってきた。そこで、本研究では超分子化学的な手法を用いて問題解決を行った。
今回、本申請者はカチオン性カリックスアレーンにより、C_<60>の水溶化に成功した。このC_<60>錯体によるDNA切断実験を行ったところ、本手法はこれまでの高分子を用いた手法に比べ、切断効率が飛躍的に向上した。この結果から、今回用いたカチオン性カリックスアレーンはC_<60>の単なる可溶化剤としてでなく、C_<60>をアニオン性のDNAの近傍に運ぶ担体(キャリアー)としても働くことが示された。以上のように、超分子システムという化学的手法を用いて、DNA切断の高効率化に成功した。
