Research Abstract |
In Gifu Prefecture, the "Gifu information super highway" using the optical fiber was prepared for prior to the whole country. The tentative trial of the information communications infrastructure has been started since 1998. At Oogaki City and Kagamigahara City, the advanced information communications infrastructure is utilized for the school education. This research is conducted for through the following facts. An information communications infrastructure prepared connecting each point of Gifu Prefecture and then the distance educational technique using the video conference system of Gifu University. In other words; (1)It investigated the present condition of the advanced information communications infrastructure in this area and examined the distance education due to the ICT use in school education. (2)The video conference system of Gifu University was connected with the information communications infrastructure in this area that is, the "Gifu information super highway". The function to connect it further to the cities network was examined and constructed as the multiple point video conference systems which complied with the flexible connection form. (3)Video teaching materials and so on were registered in Gifu University education information data base SIS-TEM VI so that it could be used on demand. It was composed as a system that streaming could transmit it, and the distance education support system told with the multiple point video conference systems was developed. (4)Practical researchs by the application of the distance education support system was carried out in the education activities such as an elementary school, a junior high school, a high school, and application to the education materials of each school was examined. (5)The "Joint lecture series" where Gifu University was connected with several high schools, was arranged and some problems about university and high school collaborations were examined.
