Research Abstract |
The objects of this study are a)The research and developments for the enhancement of a spatial resolution of OCT b) The research and developments of new imaging techniques for wide clinical applications. 1) Synthesized light source for high spatial resolution of OCT We proposed the optimization method of the synthesized light source that consists of multi-light sources and showed the decrease of coherence length suppressing the side-lobes. 2) Enhancement of stabilization of heterodyne beat signal We enhanced the stabilization of heterodyne beat signal using its harmonics. The actual conditions of modulation index were shown by the experiments and simulations for expansions of light sources (laser, superluminescent diode, halogenlamp), phase modulation signals (sinusoidal wave and triangle wave) and harmonics to 8^<th>. 3) The coaxial Mirau interferometer as the compact OCT for wide application The coaxial Mirau interferometer has been proposed as the compact interferometer. That interferometer consists of can type SLD, collimator lens, half mirror with PZT and objective lens. The axial and lateral spatial resolutions are 21μm, 10μm, respectively. The surface of Japanese coin were measured as the sample of rough surfaces. 4) The imaging method of simultaneous measurements of velocity vector and sectional image The simultaneous measurements of velocity vector and sectional image have been studied using the Doppler effect by three-beam and the confocal optics. The measured values from -2mm/s to 2mm/s corresponded to calculated ones. The axial and lateral profiles were measured at about 10μm.
