Research Abstract

This research aimed to build a bibliographic database concerning KANSEI engineering, investigate the area of KANSEI engineering and elucidate the subject, method, and uniqueness of KANSEI engineering by the comprehensive consideration. The hypothesis of the area was made for this purpose by the investigators in wide ranging engineering fields. Literatures were collected, and the key words were extracted. The structure of KANSEI engineering field was analyzed. Collected literatures exceeded 1400, which includes 370 JSKE(Japan society of KANSEI Engineering) papers and overseas literatures of South Korean KANSEI science and IEEE.Literatures concerning the textile and clothes were emphatically collected. A material is offered to the KANSEI engineering symposium, and the information gathering concerning "KANSEI engineering and informationalized society" is done. The frequency analysis of the key words is performed. The structure and relevance of the research area of 1120 documents in the database was analyzed. The area in the technique and subject of KANSEI engineering of whole and each academy has been extracted. The area was divided into a center area and the surrounding area. In the center area, the composition along the axis of research Object are abstracted information processing such as Image recognition and VR, Data analysis technique, Model of the KANSEI structure, Sense, Physiology measurement, and Comfortableness. The composition along the axis of research Technique are Sense presentation, Agent technology, Design support, Product design, KANSEI evaluation and model, Senses examination, Physiology measurement, and Physical measurement. As uniqueness, Kansei engineering is an interdisciplinary and common engineering, and contains the humanities/social science areas as a base.
