Research Abstract

不対電子を持つ高濃度の有機ラジカル(DPPH-ベンゼン:10^<-3>M)を用い、EPR測定により高速回転するスピン間の相互作用が決定された。これにより、スピン飽和やスピン・フリップ等のスピン間相互の位相(↑↓)関係が確立された。これは、ビットをスピンの位相によって表現することに対応する。しかし、この場合スピンの位相は±1/2に厳密に一致する必要はなく、中間の位相関係にあっても良い。これにより、量子(quantum : Q)ビットが定義できた。
スピンの位相関係は一般に交換積分Jによって決まるが、傾斜磁場を用いるとスピン間の相互作用を位相深度によって制御することが出来る。即ちスピン分離(アイソレーション)が可能となった。
パルス磁場を用いることにより、より直接にスピン量子数の上昇と下降が実現でき、ウニタリー変換が液体中のスピン系で実現できた。この事は、量子計算機のアルゴリズムで一番大切なウニタリー変換が、高速(数ナノ秒)でアナロガスに実行されることを意味している。Qビットを利用した巨大計算が短時間で実行が期待できる。
