Research Abstract

本研究の主な目的は、経頭蓋磁気刺激法(transcranial magnetic stimulation : TMS)を用いて、手指を用いた複雑な動作課題遂行時の皮質問抑制回路(interhe皿ispheric inhibition : IHI)の動態について明らかにすることである。本研究では手指を用いた複雑な動作課題として箸を用いたガラス玉の反復把持移動動作課題(fine-motor manipulation task : FM task)を研究課題として用いている。
25年度はこれまで行なってきたIHIの実験をもうひとつ行なった。IHIには主に2つあることが知られており、今まで焦点を当ててきたものは短潜時のIHIのみであった。長潜時のIHIに焦点を当て、手指複雑動作課題遂行時における長潜時IHIの変化を検討した実験を行なった。通常は安静時に抑制を見せる2つのIHIは課題遂行時に違った変化を見せた。短潜時IHIは増大し、長潜時IHIは減弱という結果となった。長潜時IHIの変化は複雑動作課題遂行時にこれまで報告されておらず、2つのIHIはそれぞれ別々の役割を持っていることが示唆された。この研究は現在European Journal of Neuroscienceに投稿中である。
25年の9月に学位を取得の後(早期修了)、ドイツ連邦共和国にあるUniversity Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf内のBrain Imaging and Neuro Stimulation (BINS) Laboratory (Head : Friedhelm C. Hummel)で研究を行う機会を得ることができ在学研究を行った。在外研究先では申請書記載の3連発刺激の実験も視野に入れていたが、その土台となる実験をいくつもする必要が出てきたため、3連発刺激の実験は長期的なテーマとしていくこととする。在外研究先では主にIHIの変化が行動面、つまりパフォーマンスにどのように反映されているかについての可能性を探る研究を行った。結果の解釈の為いくつか比較の実験をする必要があるが、これまでの結果ではIHIの変化が実際のパフォーマンスと関係があることが示唆されている。
