Research Abstract

本研究は、脳神経の局所的磁気刺激による脳神経活動の制御、及び新しい手法による神経電流活動の電流分布イメージングや脳磁図・脳波計測により、高時間分解能、高空間分解を有する新しい脳機能ダイナミックスイメージング法を構築することである。
本年度は、研究最終年度として、磁気刺激時の脳波計測システムの確立、脳磁図計測により、認知活動、記憶活動の脳活動を調べること、及び、MRIを用いた電気情報イメージング技術の確立を目指した。また、同時に強磁場、およびパルス磁気刺激の安全性、および磁気刺激の治療効果の検証も行った。
脳神経磁気刺激においては、磁気刺激時の脳波計測システムを確立し、磁気刺激時の活動の伝搬をとらえることが出来た。脳磁図、脳波計測においては、注意反応に関わる脳内処理が、刺激後約200msに後側頭部及び前頭部にある知見を得た。また、ワーキングメモリに関する脳内活動をイメージングした。MRIを用いて、体内の導電率分布を画像化する方法として、拡散強調MRIを応用した方法を提案し、ラット脳、ヒト脳の導電率分布を画像化することに成功した。
また、定常磁場の生体影響に関し、再生医学の基礎技術のひとつとして細胞の磁場配向制御法を開発し、シュワン細胞で磁場による細胞配向制御を実現するなど、強磁場の積極的な医学応用においても成果を得ることができた。さらに、神経系に対する静磁場の影響を、ウシガエルの坐骨神経を用いて調べた。その結果、静磁場曝露により伝導速度の変化は認めなかったが、相対不応期における活動電位振幅に影響を認め、強磁場が神経膜イオンチャネルになんらかの影響を与えることが示唆された。パルス磁気刺激の医療応用に関しては、免疫効果を高め、ガン細胞の成長抑制に効果が見られた。
