不斉液晶反応場でのヘリカルポリアセチレンの合成とその電磁気的及び非線形光学的特性

Research Abstract

導電性高分子のポリアセチレンにらせん構造を付与したヘリカルポリアセチレンを合成し、さらにその種々のキラル化合物を合成することにより、不斉液晶場でのアセチレン重合を展開した。
(1)キラルネマティック液晶からなる不斉反応場でアセチレンを重合することにより、らせん構造をもつヘリカルポリアセチレンを合成した。ポリアセチレン鎖およびそれらの束であるフィブリルのらせんの向きは、左旋性と右旋性のキラルドーパントを使い分けることで自在に制御できることを見出した。
(2)次に、軸性キラル化合物以外のドーパントして、不斉中心を持つフェニルシクロヘキシル化合物を合成した。軸性キラルバイナフトール誘導体よりも半分以下の旋光度をもつこの分子系からなる不斉液晶場においても、ヘリカルポリアセチレンが合成できることを示した。同時に、ヘリカルポリアセチレンのねじれの度合いは、キラルドーパントの旋光性によって制御できることを明らかにした。
(3)軸性キラルバイナフトール誘導体や含不斉中心化合物をチタン錯体の配位子として用いることで、キラルドーパントのみならず、触媒能をも有する新規キラルチタン錯体を合成した。これを用いた不斉反応場においても、ヘリカルポリアセチレンが合成できることを見出した。
(4)基板に対して垂直に配向するホメオトロピックなネマティック液晶に、軸性キラルバイナフトール誘導体をキラルドーパントとして加えることで、垂直に配向したキラルネマティック液晶を調製した。これを反応場とするアセチレン重合により、フィブリルがフィルムの膜面に対して垂直に配向した、垂直配向へリカルポリアセチレンを合成することができた。
