Research Abstract

高い光収穫機能により注目されているフラクタルアンテナ構造を持つ分子の例としてフェニルアセチレンデンドリマーを取り上げ、その分極率αおよび第2超分極率γを密度汎関数法、ab initio分子軌道(MO)法、半経験的MO法により解析した。まず、Linear-leg領域(デンドロン)1本を取り出し、その鎖長方向成分のα、γの鎖長依存性を検討した。比較対象として、すべてがパラ接合している系およびメタ接合している系についても検討した。その結果、デンドリティックな系の鎖長依存性は、パラ接合系のものより小さく、メタ接合系のものより大きいことが判明した。また、デンドリティック系のγは、鎖長の短い領域では小さな増大率であったが、大きい領域では、検討した系の中で最大の増大率を維持することがわかった。このような特異な鎖長依存性は、その超分極率に対する電子の空間的寄与を解析できる超分極率密度解析法により解明された。すなわち、デンドリティック系のlinear-leg領域では、パラ接合型の、メタ接合部では、メタ接合型のオリゴマーの超分極率密度の特徴を持っており、このため、鎖長が長くなるにつれ、linear-leg領域(パラ接合型)の寄与が増大することが原因であることが判明した。さらに、平面型のフェニルアセチレン型デンドリマーD25のγの全成分の計算を行い、2つの平面成分が主な寄与であることを見い出した。これらの超分極率密度解析より、γは、inear-leg領域に局在化した寄与で記述でき、メタ接合分ではよく切れていることが判明した。一般に、このような系は、メタ接合部におけるπ電子共役の断絶が理論的に予想されているが、超分極率においてもその効果が重要であることがわかった。このような局在性を持つため、その機能単位を組み上げて自在にγの大きさや符号などを調節できる可能性があり、興味深い。
