Research Abstract

イリジウム新硫化物CuIr_2S_4及びCuTi_2S_4の単結晶育成、更にCuZrCrS_4の単相の試料の合成にも成功した。現在のところ、1mm以上の大きいサイズの単結晶育成には成功していないので、大きな結晶を育成できるように継続して努力している。本研究費は主として液体窒素、液体ヘリウム、薬品、石英管、並びに耐熱部品等の消耗品の購入に当てた。単結晶を用いて精密な低温相の結晶構造解析を行い、低温相の絶縁体状態での局在磁気モーメントが存在しないことの機構解明にアプローチした。Ir^<+3>とIr^<+4>の空間的秩序と結晶構造との関係、Ir^<+3>とIr^<+4>の空間的秩序と局在モーメントの生成・消滅との関係を定量化して解析し論文として発表した。Aサイト置換の混晶系Cu_<1-x>Ni_xIr_2S_4、並びにBサイト置換の混晶系Cu(Ir_<1-x>Rh_x)_2S_4、Cu(Ir_<1-x>Pt_x)_2S_4の金属-絶縁体転移の実験結果を論文として発表した。
