Research Abstract

(1)日米の長基線ニュートリノ振動実験の比較によって得られると期待されるシナジー効果について研究を行った。とりわけ、質量二乗差の符号を決定するためには、双方の実験のニュートリノモードによる出現実験の結果の比較が有効であることが分かった。
(2)原子炉実験による(1-3)角の測定実験の現実的デザインについての研究を行った。柏崎刈羽原子力発電所に存在する計7基の原子炉は二つのクラスターに分れて存在するため二個の近検出器をそれぞれのクラスターから約300メートルの距離に設置し、両クラスターから等距離で約1300メートルの位置に遠検出器を一個設置する。この現実的レイアウトに基づき(1-3)角測定精度の詳細な評価を行った。この結果、これらの7原子炉-3検出器系を1原子炉-2検出器系によって近似する方法は十分な精度での感度評価を与えることが分かった。
(3)原子炉実験による(1-3)角の測定と長基線ニュートリノ振動実験の組み合わせによってCP非保存位相の測定が可能であることを初めて指摘した。JPARC-Hyper-Kamiokande実験におけるCP非保存位相の測定は反ニュートリノモードでの電子型ニュートリノ出現実験の運転を必要とするが、これはニュートリノモードに比して同数の事象数を得るのに約3倍もの時間を要する。そこで当該実験では最初にニュートリノモードを2年、後に反ニュートリノモードを6年運転する予定である。しかしもしニュートリノモード稼働時に原子炉ニュートリノ実験が稼働していれば、これと同期した2年間でCP非保存位相の測定が可能であることを示した。
(4)KamLAND実験が太陽ニュートリノ問題のMSW大角度解を確証したことが二重ベータ崩壊実験の解釈にとってもつ意味を論じた。二重ベータ崩壊実験に基づいて初めてニュートリノ質量の上限が求められた。
(5)研究打ち合わせ・情報交換や研究進行状況を不断に検定するために、宇宙線研究所宇宙ニュートリノ観測情報融合センターとの共催で「特定・宇宙ニュートリノ研究会」を今年度は計2回(第13,14回)開催した。
