Research Abstract

フェノキシ基を置換基とする新規フタロシアニン系ダブルデッカーLu(III)錯体を合成した。全く配向処理をしていない二枚のソーダライムガラスまたは石英ガラスの間に、これらの錯体を挟んだ試料が、Col_<tet>液晶相になると欠陥のないモノドメインのホメオトロピック配向を示すことを見出した。本研究において、円盤状分子を自発的で欠陥のないモノドメインのホメオトロピック配向をさせることができる分子設計指針を初めて明らかにした。この性質は、ディスコティック液晶半導体を太陽電池や有機EL素子の電荷移動層として応用する上で、必要不可欠のものである。
フタロシアニン錯体をポリシロキサンで連結した両親媒性ロッド状高分子を合成した。これをテンプレートとしテトラエトキシシランのゾルゲル重合を行ったところ、フタロシアニンロッドを含む有機・無機複合体を調製することができた。
デンドリマーのコア、あるいはデンドロンのフォーカルポイントにアントラセンを配置した分子設計により、新規な液晶性分子を得ることに成功した。また、光反応性と液晶構造の関係を明らかとし、光反応性液晶の構造と活性の相関についての知見を得た。
陽イオン性有機色素であるメチルキノリニウムと陰イオン性界面活性剤であるアルキル硫酸、アルキルスルホ琥珀酸のイオン対を合成し、アルキル鎖長に対してスメクチック液晶相を示すことを明らかにした。相転移点で定常光蛍光強度が急増し、蛍光寿命測定から長寿命の蛍光成分の寄与が増加することを見出した。また、陰イオン性のピレンカルボン酸には陽イオン性のアルキルアンモニウムとイオン対を形成し、蛍光スペクトル変化から温度、およびアルキル鎖長に依存してピレンの分子配置が変化することを見出した。
