Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to estimate the carbon fix ability of broad-leaved secondary forest in Japan using University Forest site. We researched following items 1) Plot level a) Establishment of permanent plots of secondary forests and collection of data all over JAPAN b) Soil research of Japanese broad-leaved secondary forest 2) Forest level c) Establishment of the timber table for broad-leaved secondary forest in Japan d) Measurement of woody volume density for each tree species e) Study of estimation for underground root biomass of broad-leaved secondary forest 3) Country level f) Estimation of the whole biomass of broad-leaved secondary forest in Japan using remote sensing technique 4) Development of model g) Development of the mathematical model for carbon fix using the allometric approach h) Development of the growth model for broad-leaved secondary forest in Japan In result we got a lot of information about carbon fix ability and stand bio-productivity of broad-leaved secondary forest in Japan
