Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study is solving the special feature of ancient garden remains in the East Asia area (especially Japan, China, and South Korea), and he influence of mutual. The number of the garden remains where we did investigation research is 62. Japanese 15 remains in Asuka period (Shimanosho site garden remains and others), Japanese 26 remains in Nara period (Eastern Palace garden, Nara imperial palace site and others), Chinese 11 remains (the Taiye Pool site, Daming Palace, in the Tang Dynasty capital of Chang'an, China and others), and South Korean 10 remains (Anapji and others). We performed the field survey, and the hearing to excavation investigation person in charge of remains, in order to know the details of remains. We held international symposium of 2 times. The purpose of international symposium was sharing excavation garden information between the researchers which participated, and performing mutual opinion exchange. The 1st time was "a Japan-South Korea ancient garden research meeting" (2001.2.24-25), and the 2nd time was "the ancient garden symposium of Japan, China, and South Korea" (2004.2.4-5). We clarified the feature of the ancient garden in each country and an area through this study. We clarified the difference between the feature of the ancient garden in Japan, and the feature of the ancient garden of other country and areas. We are not what garden culture spread simply with "China -> South Korean -> Japan", and got to know that the peculiarity of each country was more strong.
