Research Abstract |
1. Investigation and Collecting of Texts of Jia-li, Family Rituals The library investigated in this research project is Beijing Library, Shanghai Library, Kyoto University, Naikaku-bunko, and Yoyo-bunko. As the result of this investigation, the published time and characteristic of texts were clarified in detail. 2. Specifying of the Author of Jia-li On the basis of the data of the texts, prefaces, and afterwords, it was proved that the author of Jia-li should be Zhu xi himself though it was an unfinished manuscript. 3. Historical Study on Ancestral Rites focusing on Offering Hall and Jia-li in Song Period The essay "Offering Hall and Ancestral Rites in Song Period" in Ritual System and Ritual Studies in China edited by Ichiro Kominami (2001) made a positive research on the situation of ancestral rites or ancestor worship held by the literati in Song China. 4. Reading a Paper in conference I read a paper "On Offering Hall in Song China" in a conference concerning Chinese kinship held in Osaka City University in November, 2002. 5. Collating Jia-li text with other version In this field I used Song version as the original text and collated it with eight versions. Because preparation of the critical edition is an indispensable work, it undoubtedly provides a basic data in order to develop the research on the content of Jia-li.
