Research Abstract |
For three years, I studied the history and present state of tableau vivant. I tried to collect data by books and by trips at home and abroad. As result, I found these six directions for research. 1. history of tableau vivant: mainly since the late Middle Ages of Europe. 2. cinema: mainly in the movies. 3. picture: in relation to pictorial frames, which are masterpiece, motif, picture frame and so on. 4. sculpture: in relation to sculpturesque frames, which are masterpiece, motif, pedestal and so on. 5. stage: in performing arts. 6. body: show, make-up art, performance of contemporary arts and so on. When I studied tableau vivant along those directions, I found its width and depth, which are beyond my expectations. Tableau vivant implies making mobile body still. It would be necessary to study its reason. For it, I should consult the study of other fields including psychiatry.
