Research Abstract |
In this study the author investigated the relation between the resident autonomy in education and the evaluation of scholastic attainment, focusing on the educational movement in Okutango, especially in Kawakami primary school and Mineyama junior high school. She interviewed many people who were teachers or members of PTA, then acquired a lot of documents concerning the educational practices in Okutango. The results of this study are followings. The function of human formation in the community had declined in the 1960's, the era of high economic growth. This was reflected in the change of children' s minds and physiques, sometimes in the breakdown in schools. As a result, school education became to require the cooperation of the community. Teachers searched for teaching materials in the community and opened their lessons. In addition, they still more held the meeting of education research with parents. Those were the educational movement in the community and the practices for evaluation of scholastic attainment in Okutango. Teachers opened their eyes to the community, made education with parents and developed activities to enrich the function of human formation in the community. In these processes, the resident autonomy was realized.
