Research Abstract |
This year is the last year of this research project, so we are now preparing to write our book about the theme of this research, Yagci Bedir Yuruks as our result. As for the archives of the Ottoman Empire, we have been analyzed about the Income (Temettual) Registers owned by the Ottoman Archive Department of the Prime Minister's Office in Istanbul since 2000, the Islam Court Registers owned by the National Library in Ankara since 2001. In addition to these archives, we have to keep on reading about another various Ottoman archives relating with Yagci Bedir Yuruks. Because there are so many archives owned by the Ottoman Archive Department of the Prime Minister's Office, and we have not finished reading all of archives about Yagci Bedir Yuruks, yet. On the other hand, we have been to around the Bahkesir region where Yagci Bedir Yuruks had settled down. The village where most of them have settled down belong to the Smdirgi county and the Bigadic county in Bahkesir prefecture. Furthermore, it have been made clear that some of them have settled in the Kepsut county in Bahkesir prefecture and the Bergama county in Izmr prefecture. We have had a field survey around these villages and we have analized these informations comparing with other informations which have been recorded in archives. The result of this research have read a paper at an accademic meeting Toyoshi-kenkyukai at Kyoto University in 2001, and published as an articles on AJAMES in 2002. Furthermore in 2002, we have read our reports and had discussions with another historical researches in Kyoto and Tokyo.
