Research Abstract

This project was conducted toward new type lasing device combined with a self-organized quantum well materials, lead halide-based layered peorvksite, and organic semiconductors. The results of this project are summarized as follows.
1. Enhancement of electroluminescence (EL) efficiency by carrier confinement effect was attained in tri-layered device combined with lead halide-based layered perovskite with a self-organized quantum well structure as emissive layer and organic semiconductor layers. EL efficiency of tri-layered device of hole-transporting organic semiconductor/layered perovksite/ electron-transporting organic semiconductor is about 3 0 times that of double-layered device.
2. We found enhancement of room-temperature exciton emission in lead halide-based layered perovskites by mixing of divalent metal such as Cd, Sn and so on. For example, room-temperature exciton emission intensity in PbBr-based layered perovskite mixed with 20 mol% of Sn was more than 5 times larger than that of corresponding pure PbBr-based layered perovsktite.
3. We successfully prepared lead halide-based layered perovskite thin films by using the Langmuir-Blodgett technique. Employment of the Langmuir-Blodgett technique makes it possible to control film thickness and structure at the monomolecular layer level. Using the Langmuir-Blodgett technique, further, construction of microcavity device using lead halide-based layered perovskites as emissive layer was succeeded.
