Research Abstract |
In this investigation, we explored the possibility of the gene therapy using mutated phosphodiesterase(PDE) gene and angiogenetic gene to improve the contractility of the dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM) heart as follows ; 1. Construction of the angiogenetic gene and confirmation of the gene expression 2. Gene Gun-mediated gene transfer of the angiogenetic gene 3. Detection of the in vivo gene expression of the angiogenetic gene 4. Gene Gun-mediated gene transfer to the beating heart 5. Construction of the mutated PDE gene In the next issues, the possibility of the electroporation besed gene transfer and the physiological efficacies of the angiogenetic gene and the mutated PDE gene in the DCM animal model will be explored.
