Research Abstract |
(1) Collection of historical weather records-The daily weather records that described in old documents were collected enough to climatic reconstruction of historical ages. The numbers of collected old documents are about 300. (2) The length of the Baiu season-The century means of onset and end date of the Baiu season (the rainy season of early summer in Japan) are very constant from the 17th century to the 20th century. Accordingly, the mean length of the Baiu is constant too. But the date of end is tend to delay in the latter half of the 20th century. The reasons why the end of the Baiu is delayed are question. It is supposed that the global warming of climate may be a cause. (3) The periodicity of the length of the Baiu-The length of the Baiu season has some periodicity. The remarkable cycles are 120, 100, 45, and 33 years. (4) The little ice age was interrupted some relative warm periods. (5) By using the collected data, the writer planning some analysis of climatic change in central Japan through the past one thousand years. On the other hand, the writer wish to edit the daily weather tables.
