Outline of Annual Research Achievements

Since April 2014 Dr. Freeman has been preparing two manuscripts for submission to academic journals. His original deadline for submission of these papers was May 31st, 2014. However, he extended this deadline in order to collect additional data that will increase the impact and solidity of his results. He has now completed the collection of this additional data and has finished writing his primary manuscript. The final draft of this manuscript has been completed and is currently being checked by Dr Raj Ladher and Dr Masayuki Masu to ensure it is acceptable for submission. Dr. Freeman will submit the manuscript to the Developmental Dynamics journal, within the "Patterns and Phenotypes" section. Dr. Freeman has also been preparing another manuscript in collaboration with researchers working in Dr Alain Dabdoub's laboratory at The University of Toronto, Canada. This manuscript was submitted to the Biology of the Cell journal in June 2014, and in response to the reviewers comments he has been collecting additional data and incorporating this into the manuscript. The manuscript will be resubmitted to Biology of the Cell at the end of August 2014.
Finally Dr. Freeman has been collecting some preliminary data to allow him to build upon the research he has performed during his JSPS fellowship during the next phase of his career as a research scientist.
