Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We found numerical evidences of the onset of directional motion in conned systems of spherical model swimmers called ”squirmers". By analyzing the hydrodynamic interactions between the particles, both in the far-eld and in the near-eld approximations, we show that the self-propelling mechanism has a decisive eect on the collective behavior and give some necessary conditions to the observation of ocking states in suspensions of spherical objects.
