Outline of Annual Research Achievements

前年度までの研究により、[電極1(M)|電荷分離層(S)|絶縁分極層(I)|電極2(M)]を組み合わせた有機光学セルにより、可視光や近赤外を照射することによって巨大過渡光電流の生成に成功している。さらに、絶縁分極層としてイオン液体(IL)を用いることによって、界面電気二重層の形成による巨大電場によって電荷分離が促進される成果を得ている。今年度は、イオン液体を用いた光電セルの実用化に向けて更なる検討を加えた。近赤外外部に吸収をもつVOナフタロシアニンとC60の固溶体膜を電荷分離層とし、二つの電極を平行に同一基板上に配置したIL-MSIM光電セルの特性を調べた。電気二重層の生成が電極間距離に依存しないことを利用し、電極間距離を7 mmに広げても過渡光電流を取り出せることが分かった。このセルの安定性は、電荷分離層のイオン液体への溶解性で決まることを見出した。このように、透明電極を必要とせず、また電極の位置を厭わない柔軟性は、IL-MISM光電セル光検出器としての実用性を保証する成果が得られた。
このほか、電荷分離層として、近年関心を集めているLayer-by-Layer法で作製したナノスケールの超薄膜を試した。すなわち、ITO上からZnポリフィリンをLayer-by-Layer法によって共有結合により積層し、その上に絶縁分極層としてPVDF(= polyvinylidene fluoride)をスピンコートで載せ、さらにAl電極を蒸着してサンドイッチセルをつくった。効率は低いものの、このようなナノスケールの超薄膜からも過渡光電流が得られることが分かった。層数を変えながら同様な実験を行ったところ、5層のとき最も大きな過渡光電流が得られ、その後減少することが分かった。より高速化を目指すうえで、電荷分離層の設計について貴重な情報が得られた。
