Outline of Annual Research Achievements

Dr. Vescelic completed her research in very strong fashion. The collected some of the most complete and systematic data set on the topic yet, and she is now in preparation for a at least two peer-reviewed articles and the main part of a book manuscript. Before she left, she and I co-authored to articles on the history of the 東北からの声アーカイブ ("Making a Public Anthropology through Archive" and "Oral Narratives for Service Learning"。She presented at more than a dozen different venues, from national 学会 (including 日本民族学会 and the日本オーラル・ヒストリー学会) to informal workshops at Tohoku University, Tokyo University and many times at Sophia University, of course. During this time, she was my TA for both undergraduate seminars and graduate student direction. As such, both Japanese academic community and the Sophia University community, in anthropology, sociology, religious studies and narrative studies, all benefited from Dr. Vescelic's time on the JSPS.
