Tagawa, M., Ybanez, A. P., Matsumoto, K., Yokoyama, N., Inokuma, H. 2013. Interference between Theileria orientalis and hemotropic Mycoplasma spp. (hemoplasmas) in grazing cattle. Vet. Parasitol. 195 (1-2), 165-168. において２つの牧野より採材されたマダニ計489個体からDNAを抽出、そのサンプルからランダムに150個体（シュルツェマダニ50個体、ヤマトマダニ50個体、ダグラスチマダニ50個体）を選択しHornok S.らの方法に従い、M.wenyoniiおよび'Candidatus M.haemobos'に対する特異的プライマーおよびTaqman probeを用いた種特異的Real time PCRを行った。その結果、いずれのマダニ種からもM.wenyoniiおよび'Candidatus M.haemobos'のDNAは検出されなかった。今回の検討に用いた２つの牧野の牛にはヘモプラズマの濃厚感染が確認されていることから、ヘモプラズマの蔓延においてマダニの役割は低いものと思われ、マダニ以外のアブ、サシバエといった媒介節足昆虫による機械的な伝播が関与している可能性が有力であると思われた。
