Outline of Annual Research Achievements

質量数8以上の元素を形成するための重要な反応として注目されているp + 8B → 9C + γ という反応(p-8B融合反応)に我々は着目した。このp-8B融合反応は低エネルギーの反応であり、実験によって直接再現することは困難である。そこで代替反応の1つであるd + 8B → n + 9Cという陽子移行反応を理論解析することにより、p-8B融合反応率を間接的に決定した。本研究では陽子移行反応において、dおよび9Cそれぞれの仮想的な分解効果を考慮し、定量的に信頼できるp-8B融合反応率を見積もった。
陽子移行反応における入射核dは陽子と中性子の弱束縛系であり、反応過程においてそれらの構成粒子に容易に分解しうる。本研究では、その分解状態を取り入れるために状態離散化チャネル結合法(CDCC)という手法を用い、精密な反応模型を構築した。9Cの分解状態についても同様の手法を採用した。陽子移行反応の解析の結果、dおよび9Cの分解効果は陽子移行反応の断面積を最大で約58%増大させることが判明した。これはp-8B融合反応率を本質的に決定する天体核物理因子を約52%減少させる結果であり、rp-processにおける元素合成過程の阻害を導くものである。
本研究によって、不安定核を含む移行反応において粒子の分解効果が本質的に重要であることが示され、今後の天体核反応率決定に向けて非常に有用となる高精度な反応模型が完成した。当初の目的のように陽子捕獲反応の反応率を「網羅的に」決定することはできなかったが、そのための礎となる重要な成果は見出すことができた。
